Irene in Italia

Italian language facilitator
Neurolanguage Coach®

Ciao! I’m Irene

and I am a Neuro Language Coach®, which means I combine the latest neuroscience studies and coaching to make learning italian a unique, effective experience, structured with goals and timelines.
I have a degree in foreign languages and literatures (French and English) and I have always worked with people from different languages and cultures.
“Irene in Italia” is also a Podcast for learners of italian (available on Spotify, Apple, Amazon) and a Facebook group where we connect and I share tools, italian culture, language topics and exercises.
I proudly live in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy close to Rome where I run wine and food tours and experiences.
In the past I have been working as a journalist, anchorwoman and, as a writer I have published a couple of books in italian.
I dance tango, I love hiking, ancient roman history and the sea.

What kind of language coach am I?

Neuroscientists agree saying that each brain is unique and works in its own special way, hence we can imagine how stronger individual and personalized approaches can be, compared to group classes or ready-made courses.
I enjoy supporting people throughout their own special journey and stimulating their brain to find the right inspiration.
I understand and support their commitment with empathy and cooperate to find the right formula to make them autonomous, feel confident and free to speak in Italian, following their goals in grammar, pronunciation, and conversation.

My style and sessions

I’m sociable and cheerful. I like to create the conditions to work together in a relaxing and happy place.
In our first session, we introduce ourselves, and I support you while you set your goals by using the NeuroLanguage Coaching® approach.
We assess your knowledge of Italian and together we evaluate the most suitable roadmap for you now.
I follow the techniques of transactional analysis, coaching, and neuroscience applied to learning.
Upon request, I organize small group sessions in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

What to expect from the First Free Session?

In the first appointment, there is a short fact-finding session in which I will identify your requirements. After this, you become more aware of the targets you want to achieve.
I will explore your reasons for wanting to learn a new language or improve your existing language level. I’ll help you identify any existing knowledge of the language and also determine your learning style so that future sessions are tailored to the way you like to learn.

…and the followings?

Each individual session normally lasts about one hour and I, using the Neurolanguage Coaching® method, will encourage and motivate you towards the achievement of your goals in a much faster time period compared to normal teaching methods. After each session, you decide if you would like to receive consolidation to work on autonomously, which will be discussed in your session. You are always given the opportunity to contact me with any questions.

How much does NLC costs?

This method and approach creates the perfect learning conditions for the brain leading to faster, more efficient, sustainable and cost-effective results.
After the first free session, once we have set your roadmap, I am going to send you an offer, tailored to your needs.

It has to be said: Irene is an exceptionally gifted instructor. She is highly attentive to what students want to achieve, to what they might need in order to reach their goals, and also to what might be hindering them, psychologically or otherwise. She has a deep curiosity about what goes on inside the head/brain of the L2 learner — a curiosity that has led her to explore the relevant neuroscientific findings. This same passion for discovery is reflected in the joy she demonstrates when, together, she and her students uncover underlying motivations or discover strategies and tricks for understanding more deeply the structures of the language. Always full of encouragement, always down to earth and approachable, Irene is a top-notch facilitator of Italian language-learning.

Irene is truly a fantastic teacher. She is always patient and willing to explain concepts, whether grammatical or historical or etymological. Lessons with Irene have given me so much more confidence in speaking Italian than I ever had before, and my understanding of fundamental grammatical concepts has improved significantly. I would recommend Irene to anyone in search of a patient, thorough, and kind Italian instructor!

Irene is a wonderful Italian tutor! She is patient, caring, and seems genuinely invested in helping me to prove my Italian. In fact, in the few lessons I’ve already had, I feel that my pronunciation and fluidity in speaking are starting to improve. She strikes a great balance between having structured lessons in which we complete exercise focused on listening comprehension, grammar and other areas while also having a conversation in which I’m able to practice my Italian and receive feedback and corrections. I highly recommend Irene and look forward to continuing to work with her!

A few weeks before a trip to Italy, I decided to start some conversational lessons with Irene and I am so pleased that I did. Irene is engaged and engaging. The conversation was always geared toward my travel plans and the kinds of conversations I’d be interested in having for the whole journey. I’m off to Italy tomorrow and I feel so much more relaxed and prepared thanks to all the great time spent in lessons with Irene!
